Our Story
Hope In The Meantime Foundation was born from a season of uncertainty, hardship, and determination.
Like many parents, I found myself navigating developmental concerns with my child while searching for answers. After losing my job and having my son disenrolled from daycare because they could not provide the support he needed, our family faced a reality that so many others experience but few talk about.
Months of evaluations, appointments, and waiting lists eventually led to an autism diagnosis. While receiving answers brought clarity, it also brought a new set of challenges. Suddenly, our days were filled with therapy appointments, insurance requirements, IEP meetings, provider searches, and long waitlists for critical services. As the sole provider for my family, I was trying to secure employment, care for my children, and navigate a system that often felt overwhelming and difficult to access.
What I discovered during that time was that we were not alone.
I met countless families facing the same struggles—parents desperately searching for resources, waiting for evaluations, juggling financial burdens, and trying to provide the best possible future for their children while simply surviving day to day.
The gap between concern, diagnosis, and access to services can be one of the most challenging periods a family will ever face. Yet it is also the time when support is needed most.
That experience inspired the creation of Hope In The Meantime Foundation.
Our mission is to provide hope, guidance, resources, financial assistance, and community connections to families of children ages 1–5 who are showing signs of autism spectrum disorder or developmental delays. We are committed to helping families navigate the journey from uncertainty to support by connecting them with trusted resources, developmental services, advocacy, transportation assistance, caregiver employment opportunities, and a community that understands.
Most importantly, we are building a village.
A village where families feel supported rather than isolated. A village where caregivers can find encouragement, resources, and practical assistance. A village where children have greater access to the opportunities and services they need to thrive.
Every family deserves support during life's most uncertain moments. Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
